Who We Are

Hue Help is run by a voluntary Board of Trustees and a team of local staff and volunteers in Vietnam. In addition to our core team below, we also have a network of over 600 swimming teachers in the school system in Vietnam. Hue Help’s aim is to build capacity within local institutions.

Programmes Manager

Anh Dao joins Hue Help with 15 years’ experience in NGO sector and business sector. She used to work for Plan International. Her responsibilities are planning and implementing our programmes in Vietnam. Dao was born and raised in Hue, Vietnam and is married with two children.

Quynh Doan

Programme Officer

Quynh graduated from Hue Univeristy of Economics, and worked as an accountant before joining Hue Help. At Hue Help, she manages our accounts, supports administration and the implementation of our programmes. Quynh also grew up at Hue Children’s Shelter, so is the perfect person to oversee our activities there!

Tram Dang

Programme Officer

Tram graduated from Hue University of Foreign Languages. She has worked for Hue Help since 2019. Her main responsibilities are writing proposals, reports, newsletter; keeping our website, social media sites updated; and translating both verbal and written documents.

Graham Buckley

Graham Buckley

Director, Trustee

Graham is a founding member of Hue Help, and has worked for the organisation both in Vietnam and the UK.

Graham has an extensive background in water safety, with over 10 year’s experience in lifeguard training and water safety education. Graham has represented Hue Help internationally, speaking at the World Conference on Drowning Prevention on two occasions.

Graham is currently based in Vietnam. In addition to his role at Hue Help, Graham is also Operations Director at The Vietnam Swimming & Lifesaving Company.

 

 

Gill Lever

Gill Lever

Trustee

Gill works for the U.K. Foreign and Commonwealth Office but she is passionate about children learning to swim and is also a swimming teacher and coach.  Gill was a swimming teacher at the UN International School in Hanoi 2014-2018, and joined Hue Help as the Hanoi Programme manager in 2017.

She helped to launch and run the first Swimming for Safety course in northern Vietnam,  build Hue Help’s strategic network of government and NGO contacts and secure project funding.  Gill is now a Trustee on Hue Help’s Board.  

Kim Megson

Kim Megson

Trustee

Kim is a communications specialist and journalist based in the UK. He has a long association with Hue Help, having worked as our Volunteer Programme Coordinator from 2011-12, and supported with our media strategy in the year’s since.

As a writer, he has covered Vietnamese society, education and culture for publications including the Guardian, the BBC and the Economist, and between 2012 and 2015 he served as a foreign editor for Vietnam Television and the Vietnam News Agency.

Kim is now a Trustee on Hue Help’s Board.

Joshua Zukas

Joshua Zukas

Vice Director, Trustee

Josh first came to work for Hue Help as a volunteer in 2008. A year later he returned as volunteer coordinator to organise groups and supervise fundraising efforts. After 15 months in the role, he moved back to the UK, became a Hue Help trustee and assumed the vice-director position. He’s been involved part-time ever since. Josh moved to Hanoi in 2013, where he works as a travel writer and marketing consultant.

He regularly travels throughout Vietnam, stopping in Hue whenever he can.

Legal Advisor

Hammad is Hue Help’s Legal Counsel. He joined Hue Help in 2010. He is passionate about children, education and healthcare.

Hammad practices as a commercial and tax barrister in London, he can be contacted on hb@hammadbaig.co.uk.

David Burt

David Burt

Monitoring & Evaluation Officer, Trustee

David is a monitoring and evaluation specialist based in the UK. With a background in swimming and lifesaving, he has been involved with Hue Help since 2012, when he coordinated the Swimming for Safety programme for the best part of two years. He has experience of programme and project evaluation in the US, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Central America and Madagascar and currently works for a network of humanitarian organisations as Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning Manager. He is a huge fan of Hue and loves attempting to speak Vietnamese in a Hue accent.
