Treasurer

We are looking for a candidate for the position of Treasurer at Hue Help. This position involves overseeing finances, making regular reports and completing annual financial statements in accordance with the regulations of the Charity Commission for England and Wales. To apply for this position, you must live in the UK, be over 18 years old, have a clean criminal record and have experience in accounting. Experience in a similar role is highly appreciated. Volunteers in Vietnam

We currently welcome volunteers with the following skills:

• Swimming Teacher Training Instructor / Water Safety Specialist

• Fundraising

• The media

• Special Educational Needs Specialist

As an organization, our role is to build local capacity. Therefore, all of our volunteer roles in Vietnam are based on the transfer of knowledge and skills to local staff to help build long-term capacity. Volunteers of any nationality can apply. However, if you do not currently have the legal right to work in Vietnam, we will need to apply for a work permit for you to work in Vietnam. Therefore, you need to have 5 years of relevant experience, a bachelor’s degree and a clean criminal record. You will also need to undergo a medical examination. Due to the cost and time required to apply for a work permit, we only accept volunteers who can commit to volunteering for at least 6 months. Exceptions: you are an expert on a topic or attending a workshop or short training course. Currently Hue Help cannot provide any financial support to volunteers, but we can provide free accommodation.

Travelling through Hue?

Normally, we do not accept short-term international volunteers. For safety and legal reasons, we need to carry out background checks on volunteers, and this often makes short-term volunteer projects unfeasible. If you can’t volunteer in Vietnam, there are still many ways to get involved and support our work! If you are traveling in Vietnam and would like to visit us, please get in touch – make an appointment to meet our team at the office. We do not accept short-term visits or volunteering at Hue Children’s Protection Center. We advise you not to volunteer at orphanages/child welfare centers when traveling, and we advise you to be cautious with short-term volunteer projects, especially organized by travel companies – they can be more about profits and tourist experiences than actually helping people.
