On the morning of May 24th 2025, at Thuan An Beach, Hue City People’s Committee solemnly organized the Launching Ceremony of the “Safe Swimming and Child Drowning Prevention Program 2025.” The event gathered over 300 students and representatives from various departments, agencies, and local authorities, affirming the strong commitment of the whole community toward ensuring children’s safety during the summer.
In his opening speech, Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Hoang Hai Minh emphasized that despite efforts and programs carried out in recent years, drowning incidents among children sadly still occur. To improve effectiveness in drowning prevention, he called on all levels and sectors to continue raising public awareness and equipping children, teenagers, and tourists with knowledge and water safety skills when swimming in rivers, lakes, beaches, and waterfalls. He also urged tourism and service establishments to invest in rescue equipment and regularly train their staff in first aid and water rescue skills to ensure absolute safety for residents and visitors.

Proudly accompanying the City People’s Committee, Hue Help – together with the Department of Culture & Sports, Department of Tourism, VIE/039 Project, and other partners – plays a key role in policy advocacy, capacity building, and technical support, contributing to spreading life-saving knowledge and drowning prevention skills across the community. At the ceremony, Hue Help provided hands-on guidance for students on how to properly wear life jackets and basic rescue techniques.
To further support local access to water safety equipment, the Organizing Committee also presented 2,000 life jackets to beach management units, students, and local residents.

This meaningful event highlighted the power of collective action in striving towards a shared goal: zero child deaths from drowning. Let’s work together to turn awareness into action – for a safe and joyful summer for all children! 🌊👧👦💙
