📢 Deputy Prime Minister Lê Thành Long has signed Decision No. 1717/QĐ-TTg, officially approving the Program to Enhance Education on Drowning Prevention Knowledge and Skills for Students for the 2025-2035 period.
The program aims to raise awareness, knowledge, and skills for drowning prevention among students nationwide. It also seeks to ensure safe swimming education, increase the percentage of students who can swim, and equip them with essential safety skills, significantly reducing the risk of drowning incidents.
🎯 KEY TARGETS BY 2035
1️⃣ Raising Awareness
- By 2030: 95% of staff, teachers, students, and parents will be fully informed.
- By 2035: 100% awareness achieved.
2️⃣ Safe Swimming Skills
- At least 70% of 5th-grade students, 80% of 9th-grade students, and 90% of 12th-grade students will know how to swim safely.
3️⃣ Infrastructure Development
- By 2035:
- 30% of elementary schools and 25% of middle schools will have swimming pools.
- 70% of communes, wards, and towns will have at least one swimming pool available for lessons.
4️⃣ Teacher Training
- 95% of teachers and school health staff will receive training in drowning prevention and first aid skills.
